IPL New Teams Auction HIGHLIGHTS: RPSG Group, CVC Capital Win Bids For Lucknow and Ahmedabad Franchises Respectively
The bidding process for the two new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises began on Monday in Dubai with ten parties submitting their bids to own a team at one of the six cities — Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Cuttack, Dharamsala, Guwahati and Indore.
RPSG Group won the Lucknow bid at approx INR 7000 crores (over 932 Million USD).
Private equity firm, CVC Capital won the Ahmedabad bid at approx INR 5200 crores (over 692 Million USD).
BCCI gets a whooping 12,690 crores (1.7 Billion USD) from the sale of 2 New IPL Teams.
